Preparing for your move abroad

Sunday, July 31, 7 pm Madrid (CEST)/1 pm New York (EDT)/10 am Los Angeles (PDT)

Presented by Maya Borgueta, PsyD

Moving abroad might be one of the biggest decisions you make in your life—one that's full of opportunity, excitement, vulnerability, and unexpected challenges. Learn what to expect in this period of transition, and how to prepare for what comes next.

In this 90-minute, interactive online workshop, we'll cover:

  • Harnessing your personal strengths for a smooth adjustment to life abroad (or at least, a smoother one)

  • Making friends and building your support network after a big move

  • What to expect from culture shock in the first weeks and months

  • Dealing with homesickness, grief, and uncertainty

  • How to care for your mental health in the ups and downs

You'll leave with a clearer understanding of what to expect during a move abroad, and the beginnings of an action plan to support that transition for yourself and your family.

This workshop is for you if you are considering a move abroad, planning a big relocation, or have made a move recently and are still in the adjustment phase.
