Anyone can call themselves a "coach", but I bring 20 years of experience as a mental health professional, and 13 years of work as a licensed clinical psychologist to my coaching practice. I also have previous experience in the mental health tech industry, where I've worked to bring online mental health coaching to broader audience. I bring both academic and deep practical expertise to my work.

Mental health coaching is a non-clinical, professional service that focuses on improving our mental and emotional wellness. It can support our performance in our personal or work goals. Coaching may also support us in developing skills for emotional regulation or relationships. Generally, coaching is appropriate for people who are not in acute distress, but are looking to improve or optimize. an area of their life.
Therapy is a healthcare service, which is typically delivered by licensed providers. It may include a variety of coaching interventions, but its scope of practice is larger as therapists are also trained to assess for, diagnose, and treat emotional distress or mental illness.
